THE ALUMINA COMPANY OF GUINEA

The Alumina Company of Guinea was formed in 1999 as an outgrowth of the efforts by the government of Guinea in West Africa to privatize the Friguia bauxite and alumina facility. As you are probably aware, Friguia is the only operating alumina plant on the African continent, and has been in operation for approximately 40 years. In today's presentation, I will discuss briefly the background of Friguia and the events leading up to the formation of the Alumina Company of Guinea. I will then talk about the first year of operations, and the outlook for the next five years.
