Anisotropic creep behavior of a unidirectional carbon fiber-reinforced polymer matrix composite T800H/Epoxy under constant and variable loading conditions at 100 deg C is examined. Constant-stress creep tests in tension at three different stress levels are first performed for five hours on off-axis plain coupon specimens with various fiber orientations 0 = 0, 10, 30, 45 and 90 deg. Then, creep responses of the off-axis plain coupon specimens subjected to a single step change, increase or decrease, in stress are measured. For each of the tensile creep tests, the off-axis creep strain recovery after completely removing the creep stress is observed for five hours at the same test temperature.
