The electron temperature at the F2-layer peak height (i.e. h_(max)F2) over Karachi (24.95°N, 67.14°E, Dip = 36°N) is determined and studied for the space weather month of September 1999, near the solar maximum of Solar Cycle-23 (1996-2000). The electron temperature has been deduced from the empirical relationship between electron density (N_e), electron temperature (T_e) and solar activity (F_(10.7) cm Solar Radio Flux). N_e and h_(max)F2 are obtained from the experimental observations of Digisonde DGS-256, operating at Karachi round the clock. It is found that near the solar maximum of Solar Cycle-23 (1996-2000), the monthly mean diurnal T_e minimum at the F2-layer peak height for September 1999 is about 1050°K and T_e maximum is about 2800°K. A pronounced peak occurs at 0900 hr L. T during September 1999, while the minimum T_e at 0500 hr LT. The T_e at 1100-2400 hr LT ranges from 1650°K to 1550°K.
