Increased concentrations of platinum-group elements (PGE) have been detected in samples of low-grade Ni-Cu ores hosted in gabbroic dykes (400 Ma) which intruded into the upper Proterozoic/lower Paleozoic granodiorites of the Lusatian massif (North Bohemia). Geochemical data indicate that the host rocks originated most likely from tholeiitic magma derived from lower crust or upper mantle. Epigenetic Pt-Pd-As-Te mineralization was identified with sperrylite and two unnamed Pd tellurides being the principal PGE carriers.
