Genesis and properties of chromite deposits in Denizli region (Southwestern Anatolia), Turkey

Chromite deposits are common in the Denizli region, the Southwestern Anatolia. Chemical and mineralogical studies have shown that these deposits are the of the Alpine-type, and the Acoje-type podiform chromites. They have primary relations with the host harzburgite with a thin dunite cover around chromite bodies, which suggests that a wall rock and melt interaction played an important role in the formation of chromite ores.
