Elvan and ongonite magmas with associated rare metal mineralization

摘要

Provinces of rare metal granites characteristically have associated subvolcanic porphyry dykes. Elvans and ongonites are recognised respectively as the subvolcanic analogues of K-rich and Na-rich rare metal granites. In this paper the mineralogical-geochemical features of elvans and ongonites from Cornwall, Mongolia and the Baikal region are discussed in relation to their host plutons and associated mineralization.
