New MAC protocol for broadband wireless access network to guarantee delay

摘要

This paper proposes a MAC Protocol considering delay sensitivity for the broadband wireless access network. In our protocol, traffic is differentiated depending on the requirement of delay sensitivity, and dealt with in different ways to guarantee delay requirements of highly delay-sensitive data. Our protocol uses different collision resolution periods (CRP) with different back-off periods depending on their requirements on sensitivities to delay. Simulation results show that our protocol may reduce access delay and collision ratio for highly delay-sensitive traffic.
