In this research, nanomaterials of TiO_2 were synthesized and characterized to be used as adsorbing matrices of ~(99)Mo/~(99m)Tc generators manufactured with ~(99)Mo produced by the neutron activation. A commercial TiO_2 was also studied in order to compare the results with TiO_2 xerogel. The characterization of the nanomaterial was performed using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), the specific surface of the oxides was measured using the BET method and the concentration of Mo(VI) in the oxides was determined by the method of equilibrium in batch using the radiotracer ~(99)Mo. The results indicated a low Mo(VI) concentration in TiO_2 nanomaterials compared to commercial TiO_2; consequently, the TiO_2 synthesis needs to be improved in order to use it in the development of ~(99)Mo/~(99m)Tc generators.
