This work reports on the development of a Lead Lanthanum Zirconate Titanate (PLZT) bulk ferroelectric poled ceramic structure as a Ferroelectric Sensor (FS) sensor. The ceramic was implanted during its fabrication with a platinum (Pt) wire which works as an internal electrode. The ceramic was then submitted to experimental setups in order to validate and determine the Pt-wire mechanical and optical effects. This FS was also mounted on a finger splint in order to measure the blood flow that results from the pulsations of blood occurring with each heartbeat. Also this FS was used as opacity sensor allows performing 2D scanning and generating 3D graphics or images of opacity depending on the percentage of opacity of the sample. On the other hand the FS works as ECG modulator, piezoelectric microbalance, photodetector, high power signal mixer, temperature monitor, vibration sensor for industrial motors, and other important applications.
