Field-bus Profibus and Its Prospects

摘要

Field-bus is a full digital, bi-directional, and multi- station communication system used in industry between field instruments and control systems. It is the point where process control technology, automatic instrumentation technology, and computer network technology overlap; it will bring about a revolution in control systems. This paper has mainly discussed the characteristics and current situations of field bus, and the fundamental properties of the field-bus Profibus. The paper forecasts the prospects for the future development of field-bus technologies.
