A comparison of methods to selectively depress iron sulphide flotation

This study investigates four methods of selectively depressing iron sulphide gangue minerals in the flotation of a massive sulphide ore. These methods involve the use of oxygen gas conditioning, or the addition of hydroxyl ions, sodium sulphite or polyacrylamide depressants. The results obtained demonstrated that all four methods could improve the separation between copper and iron sulphide minerals through depression of iron sulphide minerals.
