Thermal analysis techniques were used to investigate the kinetics parameters and the function of mechanism for the different decomposition of AP. Three stages in the thermal decomposition for large size Ammonium Perchlorate (AP) were found. The first stage (low temperature stage) and the third stage (high temperature stage) are controlled by sublimation process. The second stage is controlled by diffusion process of NH_3. All these are explained in the point of view of decomposition mechanism and kinetics.
