Polymeric waveguides for ultra-high speed optical signal processing devices

A complete characterisation of the nonlinear optical properties of channel waveguides from soluble polydiacetylenes at telecommunications wavelengths is presented. Both nonlinear absorption coefficients and nonlinear refractive index coefficients were determined.
