摘要

Primary and recently effects refer to the better performance and/or shorter response time during retrieval on the first and last items than the middle ones of a working memory list. Numerous behavioral studies have been done yet the mechanisms of these two effects the still under debate. Here we used event-related fMRI to investigate the neural basis of these mechanisms. Brain activities were measured when subject was recalling the first, the last, or the middle items. Eleven university students from USTC volunteered to take part in the present study. The experimental paradigm was designed as follows.
