Semantic Processing Within and Cross Languages of Chinese-English Billinguals: an fMRI Research

摘要

The question that how the two languages are organized and processed in the bilinguals' brain has been addressed by several approaches including cognitive-behavioral research and neuropsychological research and so on for long time. But the answer is still not clear because the results of the research are generally inconsistent. Brain-imaging techniques such as PET and fMRI have been proved to be powerful tools to explore the function of brain. They have been used to investigate language processing from the end of 80s of 20 century. Here we will investigate the organization of the lexical representation of Chinese-English bilinguals by using fMRI technique.
