Within this paper several superplastic forming technologies in use at the Institute for Metal Forming Technology (IFU) of the University of Stuttgart are presented. They are membrane forming, matrice forming, air cushion technique and superplastic preformed parts followed by cold forming. Superplastic forming at IFU is focused on aluminium alloys. The experiments presented in this paper were made with an AA5083.
