摘要

The accuracy of machining has become a most critical consideration for any manufacturer. Many key factors contribute to the contouring error during the machining process. Here, we mainly focus on the following error of CNC control systems to improve the machines' precision in an inexpensive and user friendly way. In this paper, a method for determining the deviation of the actual cutter path from the desired path and the direction of this deviation is proposed. In addition, all functions and routines are encapsulated into a software IC chip, which can be plugged in any PC-based open-architecture controller. The main purpose of this package is to assist users to visualise the contouring error in order to find the critical sections of a workpiece where form deviation may exceed the prescribed tolerance, so that contour error compensation can be done.
