摘要

The topography of a surface, called surface texture, is created so as to improve the visual and mechanical qualities of a commercial product. However, current-employed methods for creating texture, such as etching and blasting, have low repeatability and require expensive equipment. Therefore, we have developed a new micro-texturing system based on the use of mechanical cutting as an improved method of creating surface texture within a microscopic surface area. This system can create two kinds of texture patterns: 1) regular texture patterns, and 2) random texture patterns.
