Web Content Personalization Customization A Client-Side Approach

摘要

This research addresses an efficient solution for implementing customizable web applications using the Java Network Launchihg Protocol (JNLP). The proposed solution uses pure client-side storage techniques to provide content customization and user personalization services independent of the client machine's underlying platform or browser type. This solution will dramatically enhance the user's experience and the responsiveness of the web application by storing the client's presentation data on his own machine. This local storage process reduces network traffic from the web server to the client's computer and decreases the web server's storage cost by avoiding the storage of all the users' data in the server's database. A simple application is implemented to illustrate the implementation of the proposed solution.
