Serving Chinese Steel Mills Better by Displaying the Advantages of Deep Ports and Improving Port Loading and Unloading Services

Iron ore is one of important raw materials for iron and steel enterprises and is also one of prime sources for our port business. In our case, for example, the annual iron ore tonnage counts for about 48% of the total tonnage handled by Ningbo port each year. In the past few years, with the fast development of Chinese iron and steel industry, the volume of imported iron ore has increased, which provided plenty of 'food' for our port. The Beilun iron ore trans-shipment wharf, which is under the Ningbo Port Authority, has unloaded 173,714,918 tons of iron ore ever since its operation started in 1982. As we are in the transportation business, to ensure efficient and quality transportation of iron ore and provide good services to steel industry is considered as our unshirkable duty.
