摘要

An overview of the XNET simulator and relevant applications is presented. XNET is a neural network simulator written in the C programming language and based in X-windows. Designed and implemented by the authors at Southern Methodist University, this tool is intended to facilitate migration of neural network technology from academia into private industry. The goal of this paper is thus not to convince anyone that neural networks will save the world, nor is it to advance the state of the art. Rather, we attempt to enhance the currently available toolset in Control and Signal Processing by providing readers with another asset that they can bring to bear on existing and future problems.
