This paper proposes a generalized concept and real implementation of the phase-lock circuit based on a zero-voltage transition (ZVT) three-phase inverter with coupled inductors. The proposed concept allows zero-voltage turn-on commutations of the main switches with a reduced number of components in the auxiliary circuit. In addition, any conventional space-vector modulation (SVM) schemes can operate with this simplified ZVT inverter. Finally, other applications of the phase-lock circuit verify the generalized characteristics and advantages of the proposed phase-lock circuit.
