A study of squeal noise on a scaled test bench

摘要

This paper presents a mechanism of squeal noise that take the vertical dynamics into account. Using this model, it is shown that the squeal noise can be generated by a decreasing slope of the friction curve, a vertical resonance of the wheel, or a combination of them. Results are confirmed by experiments performed on a scaled test bench.
