Unique design and construction phasing techniques were implemented to create a "signature" bascule bridge. Project development included bascule bridge aesthetic studies, innovative construction phasing concepts utilizing a temporary bascule bridge and development of a unique structural system integrating bascule piers with segmental concrete box approaches.
