This project consists of the improvement of 0.422 miles of SR-509 in the Port of Tacoma area of Washington State.The project was built for the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) under a fixed-price contract.As the successful bidder for the project,Walter & SCI Construction chose to build the segmental concrete alternate for the long span portion.(See Figure 1.)
