Bonding data from vibrational spectra for rhodium-nitrogen bonds under the trans-influence of sulfito ligands

Recently, some spectral data and estimated force constants of rhodium-nitrogen bonds were given for a compound then formulated as Na[Rh(SO_3)_2(NH_3)_4]·3 H_2O with cis-configuration of the octahedral complex anion suggested by the spectral findings [1]. In the meantime the crystal structures of two compounds Na[Rh(SO_3)_2(NH_3)_4]·3 H_2O (1) and Na_(0.75)(NH_4)_(0.25)[Rh(SO_3)_2(NH_3)_4]·3 H_2O (2) were solved and their vibrational spectra (also of the deuterated compound 1D) at ambient and low temperatures measured [2]. The predicted cis-configuration is now confirmed by the structure determinations.
