Because some of the special demands are often required in practical uses, sometimes it can be met by blending technology, the other must be resolved by filling technology. From me point of manufacture cost and comprehensive properties, the filling technology has notable modifying effects. As the filling material is often the inorganic material which covered polar groups, when it is to be filled in polyvinyl, phase separation often occurs, and then leads to worsen the properties of compounding system. Thus, inorganic material must be handled with some kinds of coupling agents or fill some of compatible agents to the Ming system, but the result often can't be satisfied. In recent years, a new technology which called filling-polymerization has been widely researched in Russia, USA, Japan, Germany, China etc. Filling-polymerization is a way which treats the surface of the filling particles and make them active and then initiate the alkene monomers to be polymerized, so the panicles are coated with PE. A variety of polymers with different molecular weight and different compounds containing fillers can be produced by this way. And, we can also get the compound which has highly content of filler and UHMWPE polymer as well. Since the series of UHMWPE which produced by filling-polymerization is difficult to process. The scope of application is limited. There is no open report on the technology which makes use of above way to treat the surface of some kinds of the fillers and then use the coated-ffllers as a masterbatch to modify PE and then study the properties. In this paper, we give an example of coated-mica produced by the filling-polymerization technology. We study the modifying effects which the basic material is UHMWPE and general molicular PE individual they are used as a masterbatch to modify PE. The results which our research focus on the effects on the mechanical properties, plasticity, MFI, rheology , viscosity-elasticity, the distribution of mica in the compound etc. are satisfied.
