From Multi-Address Space to Single Address Space and To No Address Space

摘要

In this paper, upon the discussion of Single Address Space Operating System-SASOS, as well as its advantages and disadvantages, the author puts forward the concept and principle of No Address Space Operating System-NASOS and discusses a NASOS prototype. In the NASOS, there is no concept of process virtual address space, instructions access files directly and processes run on files. Compared with SASOS, not only does NASOS have SASOS' advantages, but also can avoid its disadvantages.
