A new actor stereotype to deal with temporalsituations

Although important functionalities required by a system may be triggered by temporal conditions, Time is not explicitly allowed by the UML definition of an actor to be part of an association with a use case. This fact may cause some misrepresentations in the use case model, or worse, lead to the omissions of some important functionalities at the analysis step. To overcome this limitation, we suggest to consider that time may be the initiator of a use case and take it into account in the initial steps of the development life cycle.
