Long term stability of PV-modules, damage cases and damage analyses

More than 10 years ago Austrian electric utilities and in particular Verbund, the biggest electricity supplier in Austria, have begun to erect, operate and test photovoltaic plants /1/. Thus, today it is possible and valid to draw some conclusions regarding the long term stability and quality of the PV panels supplied at that time. The described investigations are based on performance analyses of stand alone PV systems, grid coupled PV plants and module test installations directly or indirectly operated by Verbund and/or its partners.
