Non-Contacting mechanical selas with spiral grooves have found widely applications in gas environments but with large leakage. It is not acceptable for liquid applications with great leakage. Some experiments have showed that some spiral mechanical seals can obtain zero leakage effects, but few, if any, theory explains the results. This paper presents a model that introduces a concept of zero pressure difference, zero leakage, which means that if there does not exist any fluid pressure difference some where at the seal fece, there will be no leakage because of being without any driving force from pressure difference.
