Wavelength Interrogator Employing Arrayed Waveguide Grating for Distributed Fiber Bragg Grating Sensors

A rugged and non mechanically moving interrogator for distributed FBG sensors using an arrayed waveguide grating is proposed and its operating features are investigated both theoretically and experimentally. A high sensitivity of ±3.8pm as well as a very good linearity over 0.7nm shfit is demonstrated.
