@@1.Introduction The technology of encapsuling mirobe is attracting much attention in the fields of tobacoo industy, medicine and wastewater treatment[1-2]. Alginate and chitosan, as mircocapule materials are natural polysaccharides, which are cheap in price and easy to obtain raw materials.They have the advantages of favorble biocompatibility and mild reaction ability.Encapsuling microbial cells in alginate-chitosan (SA-CA) mirocapsule[3-5] not only improves the density of mirobe but also pretects microbial cells from harsh enviromental condition such as organic solvent and poison. By adding powder active-carbon in the SA-CA microcapsule can further improve the efficiency of mass transferring.In this paper we encapulated a kind of bacteria which has a high performance in degrading 4-chlorophenol in the alginate-chitosan-powder active-carbon(SA-CA-PAC) microcapsule, and compared the degradation efficiency of encapsulated microbe with that of free microbe.
