@@1.Introduction Indolenine itself has never been isolated,however,its derivatives are important intermediates in synthetic organic chemistry.Regioselective β-allylation of indole can be a pivotal step in many synthetic approaches toward the total synthesis of natural products,1,2 In the course of our studies toward the total synthesis of complex alkaloids which possess medicinal bioactivities,we realized that none of reported methods could transform functionalized indoles into β-Allyl indolenines under a mild condition.3-5 Recently,we have reported a general,high-yielding method for the palladium-catalyzed allylation of carba-and heterocycle fused indoles,including complex natural product substrates.6 Additional information about this research will be revealed in the lecture.
