Inversion of group velocity curves obtained from data of digital stations located in south america and africa

In this paper we present the inversion results for a group of surface Rayleigh waves data. The records were obtained at the seismographic digital stations of CAY, BDF, BCAO, ZOBO, SLR and BOCO, which are part of the DWWSSN, SRO and GEOSCOPE networks in South America and American plate, Mohorovicic depth was determined at 40 km. However, very large data records are required to obtain very precise estimates of cumulates and the computational burden of cumulate based algorithms is often severe. These difficulties have limited the practical application.
