Diffusion creep and Harper-Dorn creep are twodistinct flow mechanisms occurring at low stress levels underconditions where the stress exponent, n, is equal to 1. There is aclear difference between these two processes because diffusioncreep leads to offsets in marker lines at the points where thelines impinge on grain boundaries whereas there are no offsetsin marker lines in Harper-Dom creep. It is shown that thisdifference is consistent with published measurements taken inthese two regions of flow.
