Transaction datlog: a compositional language for transaction programming

摘要

In the classicla mdoel fo database transactions,large transactions cnanot be built out of smaller ones.Instead,transactins are modelled as atomic and isolated units of work.This model has been widely successful in traditional database applciations,in which transactions perform only a few imple operaitons on small amounts of simply-structured data.unfortunately,this mdoel is inappropriate for more complex applciatins in which transactions must be combined and corrdinated to achieve a larger goal.Examles include CAD,office automaiton,collaborative work,manufacturing ocntorl,and workflow management.
