摘要

The instability of an over-hung rigid rotor partially filled with fluid in the chamber of an overhung disk is studied in this paper by using 2D inviscous, quasi-3D inviscous and 2D viscous fluid model, respectively. The effects of the system parameters on the instability of the rotor system are analysed. The experiment was performed in order to verify the theoretical models. It is shown that when the external damping is considered in rotor system, both the 2D and quasi-3D inviscous fluid models predict the rotor system become unstable at any speed, the inviscous fluid models can be used approximately to analyse the instability of the rotor system with small external damping. The unstable regions of the damped-rotor partially filled with fluid predicted by the viscous fluid model are finite. 2D viscous fluid model can be used to predict the instability boundaries of the damped-rotor system.
