Reactivity evaluation of different forms of calcium carbonate by isothermal conduction calorimetry

This paper presents the results of measuring the reactivity of different forms of natural calcium carbonate (limestone, chalk, etc.) using isothermal conduction calorimetry. In this technique, the heat of reaction of calcium carbonates towards diluted acids is measured. There is a correlation between the sum of heat evolution within the first minutes of reaction and reactivity.
