Measurements of E(j) and ρ{sub}(eff)(j) characteristics of small BSCCO-2212 coils in temperature range of 4.2 K to 31.5 K and magnetic fields up to 0.7 T have shown that there is a significant difference in the critical current of the coil if the 1 uV / cm or the 10{sup}(-10)Ωm criterion is used.. A maximum admissible power dissipation in the winding is a more suitable design criterion as the critical current one.
