The oils and condensates of Tapti-Daman block have been studied to infer source organics and depositional environments. Bulk data, GC, GCMS and carbon isotopic data reflect terrestrial organic matter input and oxic environment of deposition of source organic matter. The oils exhibit high wax content, high pour point, low values of ΣnC_(14)-nC_(19)/ ΣnC_(20)-nC_(35), high pristane/phytane ratio and canonical variable >0.47, suggesting terrestrial organic matter input. The oxicity of prevailing depositional environment was inferred by ratios Pr/nC_(17), Ph/nC_(18), Pr/ Ph and stair step progression of homohopanes. Oils of MT-7 are different from the rest of the oils.
