Light hydrocarbons geochemistry of crude oils of Gandhar and Nada oil fields, Broach Block, Cambay Basin, India

摘要

The oils of multilayered Gandhar and Nada oil fields in Broach Block of Cambay Basin have been studied to understand their genetic correlation and post generative alterations. Gas chromatography has been used to analyze the lighter end C7 hydrocarbons and compositional differences evaluated by drawing multivariate polar plots. The source related parameters indicate that the studied oils of Gandhar pay sand 12A and Nada Main pay are genetically correlatable with each other. The transformation related parameters indicate that there has been selective general mild post generative alteration in the oils within a pay sand.
