The results of an experimental investigation of long-range plasmon-polaritons are presented. Attenuated total reflection measurements displaying the effect of varying the angle of incidence of a collimated 632.8 nm wavelength p-polarised beam on the output reflectance of a thin Ti-Au-Ti metal film of infinite width are presented. The effect of varying the polarisation angle of the incident beam on the output reflectance is also presented for what is believed to be the first time. The single-mode operation of a thin finite-width Au film waveguide excited using an end-fire technique is then demonstrated. The polarisation sensitivity of these waveguides is presented and the excitation of various structures is discussed.
