Influence of the precursor powder properties on phase formation and on the critical current density of (Bi,Pb)-2223-tapes

The formation of (Bi,Pb)-2223 in Ag-tapes depends on the oxygen content of the precursor. The optimum oxygen content can be derived from theoretical considerations. The oxygen content of the precursor powder can be adjusted during a sintering process. Its proper fine-tuning yields high crtical currents.
