A beta-based zeolite catalyst was used to catalyze the transalkylation of diethylbenzene with benzene. When the amount of water content in reactant is 50~100ppm, the optimum reaction ocnditions are in a temperature ranging 240~260 deg C, a pressure 2.6~3.4 MPa, WHSV of total feedstock 4h~-1, benzene to diethylbenzene molar ratio 8~12. Under these conditions, the conversion of diethylbenzene can reach above 50.0
