Proposal of using higher tensile steel HTS-40(390 MPa) on hatch coamings of open-deck ships

The article presents the proposed scope of application of higher tensile steel(HTS),having yield point of 390 MPa,and the involved design and fabrication problems resulting on a structure of open-deck ships hatch coamings.
