Thermal expansion behavior of the composite was investigated. By incorporating fibers/ fillers with negative thermal expansion, the thermal expansion coefficient of the composite could be reduced. The laminated composite composed of the PBO fiber and the epoxy resin (fiber volume fraction of 60 %) was found to show two dimensionally negative thermal expansion with the α value around - 7 X 10~(-6) K~(-1). For the ZWP particulate filled (40 vol %) PEEK composite, the α value of the composite could be reduced to almost same value with that of Al. These decreases of the thermal expansion coefficient were quite effective for the deciease of the residual stress at the interface. We here would like to propose "EXOTIC COMPOSITES", which shows curious properties, in this case, negative thermal expansion.
