摘要

In this study, Friction Stir Welding process has been used to weld the higher 7020 alloy which is used for the construction of light armoured fighting vehicles. The aim of this work is to study the feasibility and performance of Friction Stir Welding process in thick material and then compare with MIG process. The mechanical properties evaluated were tensile strength, bend performance and fatigue strength. The results must show the advantages of FSW process to define further stages for concrete industrial applications.
