Studies on the dissociation of the automotive exhaust gas by high-speed electron

摘要

At present, Most treating techniques of the automotive exhaust both inside and outside of engine only take effect to gases of CO and HC, but not to NO_x gas. However, NO_x gas in main pollutants to form photochemical smog and acid rain. Using the new technique of the stronger electric field discharge, the electric filed intensity can reach 200kV/cm in narrow discharge gap. Meanwhile, the electrons accelerated by electric field can gain 16eV average energy, which is higher than the chemical bond energy of CO, NO_x and HC molecules. Such, NO_x, CO, HC gases can be dissociated and ionized to form molecules of N_2, O_2, H_2O, CO_2 and particle C. From the experimentalresults, the dissociated efficiency of NO_x gas is 72.5 approx 73.7
