VTS has a long developing history in our country. It takes an improtant part in promoting the traffic efficiency, ensuring the safefy navigation and protecting the environment, etc. Navigational assistance is an important function of VTS. Applying this function, VTS can control and aid vessel efficiently. It can help to ensure the safety navigation and decrease the danger of water area. This essay, on the basis of practice, elaborates the function from some aspects, such as necessity, information, affection, action and so on, in order to attain the comprehension and application of this function of VTS on practice.
